BRUSH PICK UP

Brush pickup begins April 1st. Please leave brush, leaves, and grass  clippings in bags or containers on your curb. Any bags or containers should not weigh more than 40 pounds. Keep in mind brush longer than 5 feet or more than 4 inches in diameter will be not be removed.  Leave brush for Monday pick up.

Also, remember this is a courtesy to our residents. At times, because of other projects, it is not feasible for our road crew to pick up brush. You may take leaves and other brush to Project 70 in Philipsburg.

OPEN BURNING

Open burning of leaves, paper, boxes, or rubbish is strictly prohibited in the borough. However, cooking fire is allowed. Stop by the borough building to review borough ordinances during published office hours.

PETS

Be sure to clean up after your dog, not only when walking but also in your yard. Dogs and other pets need amply water, food, and proper shelter form the weather at all times. Excessive barking is disturbing and a problem for your neighbors. Please be courteous and check on your dog.

TRASH REMINDER

Please place lids tightly on cans when putting trash out for collection. Animals are opening cans at night and leaving a mess. Also, remove the cans from the street in a  timely fashion. Empty cans tend to blow around the streets during windy weather.

If you are performing any property maintenance or additions to your home or on your property, contact Bill Carpenter to determine if a permit is required.

LANDLORD INFO

If you are a landlord, and have any tenant changes during the year, the new tenant information must be reported to Billy Carpenter, at the Borough Office. Forms are available during regular hours.

​

RENTAL PROPERTY UPDATE FORMS

Rental property update forms are mailed to property owners/landlords the end of each calendar year and due back to the borough by January 31 of the new year. If tenants change during the year, new tenant information must be updated with the Borough. Forms are available for pickup at the Borough building during regular office hours (12:30 to 4:30).  If you have any questions, please contact Mayor Billy Carpenter.

NO PARKING ZONES

There are several no parking zones in the Borough. Please be aware of where you may or may not park. As well, the Borough has a towing ordinance, at owner expense, and a junk vehicle ordinance. If you have any questions, please stop at the Borough Building during business hours.

 

WINTER REMINDERS

Borough ordinance requires residents keep sideways free of snow and ice. Within 24 hours of cessation of snowfall, sideways must be cleared. Please do not throw shoveled snow into streets.

During snowstorms, please help our road crews by removing your vehicles from the street during plowing. This would be greatly appreciated.

​

If you have a fire hydrant around your property, please shovel the area around the hydrant. The time this might save in an emergency could be a lifesaver.

​

Brush and leaf pick up will resume in the spring.
