Borough Bulletin - Winter Reminders!
Updated: Feb 13, 2022
Pet Owners
In winter weather, make sure your dogs, cats, and other animals have proper and adequate shelter from the elements.
All dogs must be leashed when not on the owner’s property. While walking your dog, please carry cleanup bags and cleanup after your dog.
Excessive barking is disturbing and a problem for your neighbors. Please be courteous and check on your dog.
Snow, Snow, and More Snow
Borough ordinance requires residents keep sideways free of snow and ice. Within 24 hours of cessation of snowfall, sideways must be cleared. Please do not throw shoveled snow into streets.
During snowstorms, please help our road crews by removing your vehicles from the street during plowing. This would be greatly appreciated.
If you have a fire hydrant around your property, please shovel the area around the hydrant. The time this might save in an emergency could be a lifesaver.
Brush and leaf pick up will resume in the spring.
Chester Hill Hose Company Reminder
This time of year is a great time to check fire detectors and batteries. Be safe.
Rental Property Update Forms
Rental property update forms are mailed to property owners/landlords the end of each calendar year and due back to the borough by January 31 of the new year. If tenants change during the year, new tenant information must be updated with the Borough. Forms are available for pickup at the Borough building during regular office hours (12:30 to 4:30). If you have any questions, please contact Mayor Billy Carpenter.
Trash Reminder
Please place lids tightly on cans when putting trash out for collection. Animals are opening cans at night and leaving a mess. Also, remove the cans from the street in a timely fashion. Empty cans tend to blow around the streets during windy weather.
